I say it was deleted, probably about a month ago.
Could have been a TM issue.

Maybe someone was cleaning out his/her portfolio.

As said above.
Domains can be deleted early, even without redemption period - which means the domain is released immediately (like the mass domain tasting a few years ago).
But usually the registrar will just send the domain to redemption, in case you change your mind or the request was a mistake.

Last year I snapped a domain, that was sent to redemption before expiry.
If I remember well it was owned by DomCollect. I think it was cyberabuse dotkom or something like that - no obvious TM issue. Maybe they just wanted to clean the portfolio.

I think you nailed it, Kate. It looks as though the domain will be released, possibly outright or via GoDaddy auction (second most likely).
