Hi - This is one of the best beginners guide I know of - loads of usefull info in one place - I suggest doing loads of reading here at NP's before you even think about buying any names. Good Luck

The following site will give you an idea what the BETTER domains have been going for in 2004/05/06 - Also loads of great articles to read.

Long term sale is at Sedo and AfterNIC.

Short term sale is at NamePros and eBay.

Some nice places to register names: GoDaddy.com and DomainSite.com

People mostly look for good keywords in domain names. Shorter = Better.

Enom Reseller account is my preference (for registrations), IMHO! :music:

Never any problems or worries, and easy "pushes" within the Namepros.comโ„ข and domainer community.
All the best!

what do people look for in good domain names?

Answer: People look for the keywords and length in a domain. For example if you have keywords such as sex.com (really good) but if you have a name anatomyandphysiology.com (it is considered bit long and have less value)
Also hyphens lower the value in some cases so you might want to avoid them in the beginning years. Basically just go with good keywords and you are fine. Make sure you buy the domain with high developement potential.

Developement potential can be explained as if you have a webhost.com it can be anysite like webhosting site, directory, list of hosts blah blah... so you want to register a name like that.

Wheres the best place to register my domains?

In my opinions the best place to register the domains are Namecheap $8.88 (very easy to use and nice support (www.namecheap.com)

Domainsite (www.domainsite.com) $6.95 (cheap and good)

Alot of people feel comfortable with godaddy.com (www.godaddy.com) i am not a big fan of them.

Where do i go to sell them?

you can sell your domains here at namepros ... in the forums or live auction

Also you can list it on the websites such as SEDO and Afternic.

Good luck

I hope i helped
