I am wondering about something. Lets say for instance that there is a band called "rock rock house" and they own their domain www.rockrockhouse.com. You happen to find that the term "house rock rock" has been searched for high xx,xxx times in the last month and the domain www.houserockrock.com is available to register.

I mean correct me if I am wrong but you could probably use this domain to make some money right?

Not really because the name is unlikely to get any traffic.

I would have to think that if you build some kind of site around it then it might work, no?

Well that way it will work. Build a site, throw in some ads, build traffic and PR and you can make profit. But it will take some time.

I think it would work, you could also probably get traffic from the people search for that band. It's worth a try at least. Good luck!

I'm quite certain ovt doesn't dislay the query words in the way in which they are typed in... so a reg like this might not be the traffic hound you might think it is.

Now if the OVT results were decent for the domain... houserockrock.com... it'd be a different story.

I tried something similar when I first became interested in domaining but now Iโ€™m glad that I didnโ€™t go ahead and register PokerViagraMesothelioma.com :)

If you're looking at Overture domains, you have to know that Overture rearranges and groups words that it doesn't recognize as being a phrase in alphabetical order. So if you search for "Rock Rock House" those results are going to be listed under the numbers for "House Rock Rock", even if that is not the proper term. That does not mean anyone would ever type in HouseRockRock.com

I fully agree with all the previous comments. You can make money with any name given enough promotion and Development. However why make it anymore difficult by getting a name with redundant repeated keyword. Using the example name, would not HouseRockBand.com be a better choice or similiar?

you need to distinguish between traffic and click-thrus. It is possible to have high traffic and no income......

In this instance I was just searching for "rock" and the term "house rock rock" just happened to show up at the top of the list. Arrg! I thought I had an excellent idea :hehe:.

Thanks for your input!
