You can transfer it to other Name.com accounts. If your buyer doesn't have an Name.com account, ask him to open one. And here's the link to the Transfer page: https://www.name.com/management/account_transfer_bulk.php (can be found in the right menu once you're logged in as 'Account Transfer')

There's a 60-day hold policy during which you can't transfer the domain out from Name.com. The 60-day hold starts from 7th of January.

Thanks Andr3w for "Rocket Fast Reply", just curious to know is this rule applies to all the domain name registrar and if yes then since when it has become applicable ??

Thanks again

It's an ICANN rule. And yes, it applies to all registrars.

I can't tell since when it's in place. It has been that way 'forever' for me.

Well i tried doing that as the buyer has account in Name.com but it gives below ERROR:

Here is the status of the domain names you are trying to transfer to the account with account code XXXXXX-XXXXXXX

Error: Cannot transfer XXXXXXXXX.org. Domain was registered in the past 5 days.

What is to be done, really confused and frustrated...

Are you sure you trying to transfer within name.com.. as opposed to another registrar? If yes, I would give them a call.

they must have some sort of policy for newly registered domains (<5 days), although I haven't found any reference to such a rule in their TOS.

I've found this as well (somebody else encountered the same issue): Cannot transfer a domain to another Name.com account though 5 days have passed since registration.

I suppose if all operations are done within the same domain name registrar that is much better for you and for your domain name buyer at least in terms of time

Dear SiberForum, i am transferring the domain name internally on name.com account only.. I mean the buyer also has account in name.com.

Moreover i have dropped mail to all possible contacts of name.com but still i have not received any communication from them...

Thanks for your inputs..

My experience with Name.com has been good, but email support can take up to 4-5 days, so it may be that you can transfer the name before you get a reply.

I agree. GoDaddy's support is much faster.

Even it looks that i have to agree upon that now, as even after 24+ hours i have not received a single reply from them... Strange but true...

Some registrars restrict pushes (transfer to someone else at the same registrar), such as eNom, to once a week or so.

The 5 day error message is probably right - simply wait till late Tuesday and retry the push.

With that said, often registrars with such policies will override and expedite a push upon request.
