I trying to register a domain for a directory.

The domain I'm thinking about has 16 chars not including the TLD. It would be *******directory.com and it consists of 3 words total.

In terms of SEO, do you think it will have an impact on search engines because it's so long?

I don't think search engines are notable biased when it comes to domain length.

If you worried about domain length you might consider using a shorter suffix like 'dir', 'db', 'book', 'info', 'links' or none at all.

There is always the .directory TLD as well, you might want to register.
