Domain Name Leasing

Hello everyone,
I thought about the possibility of leasing or renting a domain name to someone with re-directs to their site. Would this be a reasonable thing to do? Has anyone else done this? or know of anyone doing it?
This way an end user doesn't have to pay a large ammount of cash up front; and if they decide not to keep leasing, you still own your domain name. Any ideas on what to charge?
Is this a crazy idea? Help please.

i would redirect the traffic too, but I would not use the rental domain to develop, due to reason, you have to give it back to orginial owner. Basically its like you paying the owner to develop their domain, which is not worth it.

So its better to just buy the domain out, or look for alternative.

I agree. In my experiences, lease agreements generally have a option to buy associated with them. I have never made any progress with lease agreements, since I too want to retain ownership of the domain.

I hadn't thought about an option to buy; but if it was a good price, then it may be worthwhile.
