Domain Name Front Running??

I read this interesting article on Domain Name Front Running and there is a term of 'name spinners' used in the article. Could anyone explain what is name spinner and what do they do??

AFAIK ( and please correct me if i'm wrong)

A name spinner is a website that offers you suggestions on what name is available through certain keywords.. or other algorythms. (MYhomesales MyhomesalesShop OfficialHomeSales etc..)

Like:: "Type in here 2 sets of keywords like House > Sales
Home > Building"

and it checks for HouseHome HouseSales HouseBuilding HomeSales Homebuilding HomeHouse

in some of the various extensions.. .com, .net, etc..

The other thing it could be talking about is something similar to Pickydomains.com.

I have another stupid question (sorry), what AFAIK stands for?
Does name spinner able to check whether that particular domain name is available for registration or not? For example, if I choose HouseHome.net from a name spinner site, will it be able to tell me whether the site have been registered or not?

AFAIK = As Far As I Know

Yes, They usually come with Availability checking, and also most of them will offer to help you purchase the domain also.
