I also say .com. But I'd say if you are doing business in only 1 country, I'd take the cctld first.

If I'm based in UK then would Goole recognise a co.uk better than a com?

Generally yes.

And as stub mentioned, I'd establish my presence on the cctld if you are only targeting the 1 country. It would still be nice to have the .com, in order to protect your brand should you expand globally.

Thank you RazorNF,
Since all of you recommend for "com" , I will go with that but I got an external advice to use .org since it gives more exposure to web.
Is it true?

Short answer, no.

The .org extension was originally intended to represent non-profit organizations. However, as there are no formal restrictions, with the saturation of the .com domains people started using .org as an alternative.

In your case, unless you are a NP-organization, the only impression you would give to consumers is that you settled for a second-best choice, being the .com unavailable to you (or not affordable). By no means will a .org extension give more exposure than a .com (provided that Google doesn't release any new crazy algorithm to punish the hard-working .com-oriented domainers :P )

Btw, I'm new here, so you may want to wait for someone else to confirm this.

I regi..

Fizi dot org, so can it be used for non-profit organization?

@ProSence - Yes. There are no formal restrictions on .org domains

@MeYouMoki - If your primary business is in the uk I would definitely get the .co.uk cctld and use that. I'd then get the .com and redirect it to the .co.uk. Google's preference would be for the .co.uk for people searching from the uk, and .com for people searching from outside the uk. But with the same content, it probably wouldn't be a huge difference in preference.

Hi, Thank you all for your kind reply.
will go for .com
Thanks a lot..

Google has no preference for the .co.uk over the .com. The issue is geotargetting, if you use a .com you need to host the domain on a UK IP range or use webmaster tools to do it manually.

Got it, Since I am looking for an global impression and views ,I will go for .com

You should get the .co.uk and redirect it to the .com if you are from the UK.

.com is your best choice.

How to redirect .co.uk to .com?
is it possible via my hosting service?

You normally do it via your registrar for the .co.uk domain. You can do it via the host for the .co.uk domain but it's long-winded because you don't actually need any hosting for the .co.uk to do this.
