Domain expired pending renewal

I found a domain that is parked and at the top of the page it says

"Notice: This domain name expired on 03/14/08 and is pending renewal or deletion"

When will it become available. Will it go to expiring auction or closeouts or will it just be cancelled and I can register it, that's if nobody else does?

Check the domain ,what is the actual registrar?

Mostly is snapnames , pool , namejet auction.

That sounds like a Network Solutions expiry page. Based on that, my bet is the domain will be on NameJet in about 3.5 weeks. You can go to NameJet and type in the domain name, it will tell you when you need to backorder it by.

Is it a good practice to backorder domains. I think I can back order it, if the owner doesn't renew it, would that put me next in line or would it still go to auction?
