Domain Appraisals

Hmm
People asking appraisals for domains that arent keywords but sounds good.
Offcourse they have a great enduser value but every domain does that. If a company wants a domain for their biz they can probably pay thousands of dollars.

But most domains doesnt have any potential for endusers, but who knows.

Its inpossible to appraise domains that doesnt have any traffic, or is a keyword domain. So why ask, they will only get the same awnser enduser 100-1000$ if you find one.

I think the *best* way to get an idea of your domain's value is to get as many opinions as possible from folks who have been around the industry a long time (observations and first-hand experiences) and then complement that with your own research. I put my names up for NamePros appraisal because I'm interested in seeing what the NP community has to say (veterans and newbies alike).

I'm not so naive to believe everything I read though, because...

1. It is not an exact science.

2. I'm often not sure of the motive behind some appraisals (meaning that occasionally there may be a low ball appraisal given with the hope that the name appears for sale at a below value price).

3. Some appraisals come with "gut" feelings and no search on possible end-user leads (I'm guilty of that myself, quite often).

Another reason why I enjoy reading my appraisals is the feedback I receive. Be it positive, negative, indifferent. Nice to read about potential contacts, as well.

I put names up for appraisal to show off my new 'toy' and to brag to people when i get appraisals for more than reg-fee
