I saw it hit $55,000 EUR, will it hit $1,000,000 USD?

That should go for big money. I will guess one million.

This domain sold for $650,000 only recently in July 2007.

And now it appears they are looking to flip.
Shows how speculative certain segments are (domainer 2 domainer @ live auctions).

Unless a greater fool is found, someone will be left holding the baby

I see the bidding is in euro - not much faith in the US peso :?

It was bought by Virtual Network SA, a Swiss company that had planned to turn it into a website for investors.
I guess they didn't have the time or resources, and just decided to try and flip it.

Update: Sedo Press Release
Reserve price: 750,000 USD

I don't think it will hit the reserve. Is it a great domain, yes. It is worth a million - no way. If you have a million to spend there are better domains to be had.

Decent name but plenty other choices for an investing site.
They should have thought harder about it amidst the euphoria of yesteryear...
Easy to shout out "development" - far harder to successfully execute.

If it doesn't sell (v likely won't) they will have to hold it...until the market catches up...or when it takes a wheelbarrow of worthless US$ to buy a loaf of bread...

And no - this one will not fetch the reserve or $1M.
Any buyer (domainer) wanting it would have bid not too long ago at the July 2007 auction - and I can't see what's changed in the meantime for another big domainer whale to take this turkey off him at his required price..

Great sale by Rick Latona to proverbial "dumb money"

I agree. Personally I can't see it reaching the reserve, but you never know.
It will be interesting to watch. :)

I bought this name for 8000 dollars in 2002 and sold it for 650,000. It's currently at 1.5 million Euros. I'll believe it when I see it closed on dnjournal. Either way, I have no regrets. For the market, I hope to God that is a real bid. I'd love to see it sell for that much or more.

This domain is totally overpriced as far as I am concerned. I would kill for this domain name, but if a reseller is buying this then I don't think it is a wise move

Rick, I think you made a nice little return there. You could have decided to put your money in Enron stock instead. I think you made the right call.

I hope so too, but we have seen many auctions with bad/fake bids on Sedo.

Yes, he seems to be quite flush, and has some very nice domains.
