I decided as a way to motivate myself into getting fitter and also raise some money for a good cause that I would run the Bristol 10k. I am trying to raise money for MacMillan, which is a cancer support charity.

Feel free to post here if you want to offer me encouragement and support or you want to sponsor me, I have a justgiving.com page here http://www.justgiving.com/Adrian-Allen.

Also I will be posting updates on my twitter page about my progress.

Not sure how I will do to be honest, have a lot of work to do before race next month and haven't done anything like this before.

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

Thats great man :) I do 10 k on the stationary bike at the gym everyday but don't think I'd be able to run it :P

You need a big fat NP logo on your shirt when you're running :) Just donated a few $NP.

Good luck and let's go for first place! :D

Hey buddy I was just about to donate but I wont get the "gift aid"
because I'm in the States. Would it be better if I sent you the
funds and you donate it to realize the 25% tax inclusion from
"gift aid"?

Completed 10k Run yesterday, in a time of 0:49:39 beating my 54 minutes practice run :)

Finished in position 2409 out of over 11,200 runners, which I am pretty pleased with as it was my first time and I was running injured.

You can search my name 'Adrian Allen' here - http://www.runbristol.com/searchresults.aspx to see my result.

And if you want to sponsor me you can still it at www.justgiving.com/adrian-allen or my np$ or any other method you want :) Would love to get a bit more than I have already for McMillian (Cancer support charity).

Thanks for everyones support.

Good to see another NP member running for charity :tu:

If you guys want to read about why I'm running the Edinburgh Marathon, have a wee nosey here :tu:

Good luck in your run Holyroller!

I completed the run on Sunday just past, not anywhere close to the distance of your run though. Considering doing a half marathon later in the year with my sister though.

Have read you story, very moving :hearts: Good luck on your run.
