Especially I am noticing more traffic of some domains parked @ Dan.com.
Does more traffic usually result in sales? What's your experience with traffic vs sales?

I'm sure most of the MPs and parking companies already have bot/fake traffic filters in place. They just use their own proprietary filters, so their stats will vary.

For now, as to the question of whether traffic stats meaning anything to me, the answer is no. Sales and epc is the common denominator. The marketplaces and ad parking companies that yield results are what matters. Ultimately, those that deliver profits, not just traffic, get my customer loyalty!

unless your domains have existing traffic or get some type-ins, then any visitors you receive will mainly come from a marketplace where people search for domains.

and without traffic or some visitors, how will your names get sold or earn any ppc?

and, when time comes to renew, how will you decide which names to keep...

those that got some traffic but no earnings, those that got some visitors and earned some ppc or those that didn't get or earn anything?

you have no idea where traffic is coming from and unless you migrate it now with GD cash parking, you won't earn any ppc revenue.

best to move it to bodis or sedo, where at least you can see some referrals.

For me, more traffic definitely has not been associated with increased sales at DAN, but perhaps others have had better luck.

The traffic stats appear generally unreliable to help determine which domains are worth keeping, other than obviously the ones that actually produced earnings.

The good news is that, for the domains I did recently cancel some domains (and did so before expiration). I see that, since my cancellations, others have renewed most of them with the registry. They can find out themselves, after paying Verisign, which are worth keeping.

There was also tdnam (godaddy auctions) I am unsure if users were allowed to sell.
20 years is a rough number. It can be something between 15-20 years. I don't remember the exact date. I remember Sedo was around in 2004/5

This is the strangest thing I hear many people say here. Am just starting Domain biz though I was in internet marketing for 12+yrs. Never brokethrough there. Hope this will be my bread and butter.
But this is strange here because I am hearing 'just create the domain and buyers will come' kind of thing. Whereas in internet business, you have to toil to get traffic. Otherwise you are guaranteed to fail.

Many people told me here they don't bother about featuring their domain in Godaddy or Sedo. On the contrary Godaddy sends email to me now and then telling me that many people succeeded by promoting their listing by featuring them. The first domain I sold I guess it is due to my featuring it.
Not to debate on the subject but I would leave the idea of traffic/promotion if it works without it. Just wanted to know what works.

Moat traffic you see on Dan and Epik are from bots. That makes the stats inconsequential.

Stats from Bodis give a clearer representation of visits from ACTUAL people because they seem to actively filter bot traffic.

What evidence to back up these claims?
