Does your host allow/ have mod_rewrite installed?

im trying to find a hosting solutions (choosing between options) and I wonder if anybody has information on this topic.

Does your hosting company (apache, linux) allow you to run mod_rewrite for urls?

That could not be installed for the one simple account only. That is what you need to install for the whole server or at least VPS

It's long been quasi-standard. Even IIS and Litespeed have compatible equivalents these days.

Yes I have a hosting that have mod_rewrite installed. You can ask your hosting provider to install it for you. they should install it if needed.

That is installed for the whole server and can't be installed for you personally

Avoid hosts which doesn´t offer this feature.It´s required to make nice short urls.I use it with Apache and with Litespeed its also available.

I guess almost all leading hosts allow mod_rewite / .htacess these days.
