Hey guys/girls,

I recently saw some .us domains traded on 4.cn and their whois shows chinese registrations.

My question is, does Neustar actually do spot checks to look at the whois of domains or is that an outdated policy that they don't really follow anymore?

http://www.neustar.us/the-ustld-nexus-requirements/

Is it safe for people from other countries to buy .us domains on the aftermarket?

I know that I missed a .us before because I didn't prove that I was from America at dynadot...I went to bid, and it wouldn't let me. I just had to check off a checkbox and then the next time I was able to bid.

I'm sure it's the same at registration. But once a .us is transferred to you, are there any checks after that?

Just checking on the current state of affairs. Thanks!

Bobby

I don't know if they verify the U.S.A. requirement, but they did contact me about a domain they thought I had privacy on. I don't know if they spotted it or if it was reported.
