I have a site that uses .htaccess and Mod_Rewrite. It's on a Linux server and works fine. When I tried it on my computer using EasyPHP, everything was a 500 error until I renamed .htaccess to 1.htaccess so it wouldn't work. Is there something I have to configure to set this up right?

If you have an Apache running, it should be fine. However, I have strong doubts these will work on IIS.

I was using Apache. Is there anything I have to configure? The Mod_Rewrite rule wouldn't have done anything to the URL I was looking at, but it still couldn't show it. The file was an html page, so it shouldn't have gotten the 500 error if the page really showed.
