Does having Fantastico De Luxe on a host mean I can install Wordpress / Joomla?

I'm in the final stages of a very long host selection process and I'm a little foggy on this aspect...

If a web host claims to have Fantastico De Luxe script installer as a feature, does that mean Joomla and Wordpress are included?

Based on what I want to do and how I want to start, those two "scripts/template systems" are important for me to have.

This is a super newb question but if you consider the 10,000,000 hosting companies and the endless ways they promote their offerings - it gets pretty confusion for us rookies.

ie. Some host claim they have Fantastico, some claim they have Wordpress or Joomla and others claim to have all of the above!!!

Help and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

pretty much yes. you should also know that each install will take up a database, so that might be something you need to keep in mind.

Both Fantastico and Installatron have both Wordpress and Joomla. cPanel itself offers these as well as a CPAddon, so that may provide the discrepancy; as well as some hosts try to market these install scripts like they are a special feature. One well-known industry giant comes to mind, and it does frustrate me because it's misleading.

And even if they are not included you can download them from the Joomla web site and then upload them there and install

Same as above. You do not need to go to a host who offers what you have said. You can just install it yourself, chances are if you do it that way, manual install, you will be up-to-date with the software but also give you a better understanding of how everything works.

With fantastico and installatron you can install the software in about 1 minute. However if you do it manually depending on how you upload it, database etc you may find it takes over 10 minutes.

These installers save time, however as MGS said. Installing yourself you learn a lot more. However the installers are usually always up to date.

But sometimes people do not need to learn that. They need time and I believe absolutely do not have it for learning. But I'm sure that any solution should be learned.

Not necessarily.

Business is always about money, and time is money. If someone has a staff to maintain a website and has the template (for instance) designed elsewhere, then they just need a working copy. Why pay someone $x amount to install or spend valuable time(aka opportunity costs) for something that is included with another package. Those that actually update the site through the administration area don't need to know how to setup a MySQL DB, for instance.
