I bought DaytonaBeach.biz. I would certainly prefer that name in .us or .info as those extensions give you a broader range of interest to cover on a geo website than just business - but even though .biz is narrowly targeted for a geo domain, I still see some good value there. Some of the best traditional media properties in all major cities is the local Business Journal. You can cover the local business community and the beauty of that is that those are the folks who have money to spend on advertising and will support you if you put out a good product.
Make yourself synonymous with business in the specific locale. It is a narrow but rich vein you can tap. For example with Daytona Beach you have a community whose economy is based on tourism. You could do feature stories on the top hotels and resorts, restaurants, attractions, etc - interviewing those business owners and presenting what they have to offer. I think both consumers and the business people themselves would love it and allow you to build a very strong following. Domains have the potential to be made into great media properties with a very small investment. The average guy can't afford to buy a print newspaper, radio or TV station, but he can build a website that can be just as powerful (if not more so) than outlets in traditional media.
