Hi domainers,
I don't usually follow current affairs news daily, but today someone told me that Trump in the US intends to pass a Bill that levies "revenge taxes" on foreign countries regarding investment into US assets. So far as I googled online, the definition of US assets seems to be targeted at stocks, real estate investment trusts, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (or ETFs) but I did not see the case for US domains (especially gTLDs).
I have a question for the Namepros Community: if the bill is passed, do foreign domain investors like me need to pay additional tax for buying domains from the US? If yes, how much?
Thank you for your time!
Regards,
Kenny
