Just wondering, anybody make a full time income out of domaining or close to a full time income? Not asking how much you make

i think that would be too stressful. Much easier doing it as a hobby, while having a solid income from elsewhere

Yeah I could see that, I guess it all really depends whether your making a good chunk of money or if your struggling.

Well, if someone was a full time domainer or making a decent living at it?
Would not be a domain newbie now would he/she?

Domaining is part of my overall income but I certainly wouldn't consider it my full time career.

It is possible, but if you are starting now, it is definitely best to subsidise your outgoings (purchasing domains, hosting etc) with a full time job and if things kick off properly, you can always move into the full time domaining circle.

I domain full time. DomainFlipGuy.com

What questions do you have? I make a great income, and I do it every single day. Not a big deal to sell concepts or ideas, people usually go about it the wrong way.

I don't do domaining full time but I devote so much time that it could be a full time occupation :)

Wow its great to hear people are making a full time income doing this. I would definitely like to build up to a full time position.

Does most of the revenue come from parking or from selling? How many domains do you own to really fulfill a full time income?

I imagine the FT domainers need to develop some of their domains to make a living at doing it, right?

I personally look at this as just a part-time hobby with the added benefit of some extra $$$.

I know two guys who do this full-time, but they live outside the US.

Living a life from domaining in the US is equivalent to winning the lottery (very few).

Yes, there are many that claim they live off of domaining, but............

Eating corn flakes for dinner, and paying the rent late because you just had to have that daily drop doesn't constitute living in my book.

.nj, I am living fine. The thing is that from selling, developing, and leasing names you can make real money.

Hey Rob. Glad to see you are doing well with domaining.

Do you mind if I ask where you main domaining income comes from?

Do you own a start-up? Developed sites? Parking? Flipping names?

Not trying to put you on the spot or anything, but more info would be nice if possible.

I would hate for newbies to get the wrong impression and start maxing out more credit cards.

I myself need $4k+ a month just to sustain life.

Anyone making $4K a month from domaining is a rare commodity, and very, very uncommon.

Thanks

I'd be happy to discuss deeper via PM - but my rundown is this:

I "think" before I buy, most people that I've interacted with do not seem to.
I have a myriad of websites on varying platforms, but, most of all I'm a good sales man. I look for opportunity and go after it once I've identified it. That's the difference, period, showing up - and taking action.

Nobody should max out a credit card - they should identify possibilities to sell a name before they buy it - and make sure they're willing to put their reputation and name on the line to sell it to the identified parties.
