I was just curious if adwords or ypn will increase your page rank in search engines. Im curious because i did a link: to my domain search in google and the sites where the adsense displayed my ad had it in the search results

nope, pagerank is based on links to and from your website and adwords/ypn ads link to themselves (which is how they track clicks, ctr, etc).

If adsense is crawlable and if it is counted as your backlink then yes it could help your PR if it is from a good PR page.

But I know it won't help because the URL of the adsense displayed on page is not your URL but an encoded URL of adsense itself from where the click is being tracked and then the visitor will land on to your site.

So in adsense you will not find a link back to your site but to the google adsense tracking script.

I really don't think Adsense ads are crawlable. However, that being said, I have always felt that Google is more aware of all the pages that it has ads on. So I am assuming, more pages that display ads, are bound to be indexed for sure.

I could be wrong about this though! Please verify :)

Crawled yes :) Indexed in SE results Don't know. But crawled is definitely Yes because that is why we see contextual ads on that page to match the content of the page itself.

Nope, it doesn't so say Yahoo and Google. But...it works well for me though...

I think adsense is not crawlable because it is based on javascript. Search engines are text based. The same thing applies to flash.
