Do you think this is a hoax?

I came across this site: http://domains4free.org, which claims to give you a free domain name of your choice if your daily visitor count is 100 or more. I would assume that this includes all names, from .us to .sc to .co.za. Do you think it's a hoax?

It's not free; you have to place their AD-CODE into your site.

I don't think so and I don't think they are going to register any ext for you. maybe just few basic ones. The main reason that site will give you a free domain name is because the owner is getting his/her website advertised on your site which recieved 100 unique visitors per day.

PS. The owner of that site is a member here

Not a hoax but an 'interesting' way of generating hits/page rank/links/ whatever to his domain names from your own ????

We will review your website in a week and if your website meets our minimum requirement of 100 unique visitors per day then we will give you your domain for FREE.

hmm, that seems to be asking a lot for the first week for a new name (700 uniques in the first week), considering it takes a few days just to get indexed in the search engines. I suppose you could reg a natural type-in but those are few a far between now.

I would guess you would end up paying for the domain after the week then get swamped with spam and your site would be littered with millions of pop-ups. Then if you did get the 100 uniques/day and get it for free I bet you wouldn't own it. :o IMO

Yeah I don't think it's actually worth it. Way too much effort for $5.19
