Do you think appraising here hurts sales?

Theres people who purchase domain names out there who might do a little research on the web before they decided to buy a name. I recently sold a name that others on here said was below regfee. I had 2 bidders bidding on it for about $190 even though I started the auction at about 9.00. I have another one on auction now for about $150 that was also on my "worthless" list. Now if one of those people were to do a search on google for that exact term with no spaces, they would see my post on namepros where people were ridiculing that specific domain name and saying it was worthless, and that buyer might think twice about it then if they are a reseller rather then an end user. Just a thought of mine and a warning to others. I dont think its so great to have names appraised on here. Not only because what they appraised it at was way off, but also because it might hurt a future sale. I tried to delete the content of my post with all my names but for some reason it all shows up in google results still if I search for the exact terms.

I can't find it now, but there was a thread a few months ago asking advice on a trade. Everyone in the thread was saying he would have to be insane not to take it, and lo-and-behold the other party involved in the trade was a member here... and promptly changed his mind.

The appraisal can hurt your sale and on the contrary, it also can improve your sale depending what kind of domain you have.

Not all end users are going to research the name though.

Yea its all about the demand from the buyer, and you're confidence in your name. If you really feel your name is worth more than the "trash" offer, then you need to stand by your name, and up the ante. On the other hand, appraisals are really opinions, and they often are as wrong as they can be right. Some obvious good names are really worth what peopel say, bt it boils down to the demand from the buyer setting the market price. But i understand your plight. IMHO, its still better to have a weak/cheap sale, than no sale at all, and no sales is one of the inefficiencies of the domaining industry.

Humans has a tendency to believe on the negative words, so that's why i rarely let my domains be appraised in any forums.
