Some of these prices to ludacris. Do people/companies actually buy domains on this site. Or if you get a domain accepted it will probably just sit there and never get bought.

Like pokercredit.com listed for 150,000? Come on. Who's gonna pay that?

I don't because I don't really like them.

i agree, i recently had "uncensored.tv" accepted. they suggested listing it at $10,000. I looked at other .tv domains for sale and felt mine was much better than 95%. Some of these were being listed for as high as $75,000. ridiculous, imo.

What price did you want to sell uncensored.tv?

i really didn't have a price in mind, just felt it was better than some of the one's going for 7x it's list price.

Some people do buy on GD, but I think nearly all of the sales are to end users rather than resellers. Most resellers don't have the budget to pay xx,xxx or higher for domains.

The only non-end-user who has purchased on GD that I know of is elequa.

I recently disagreed with a price range they (GD's) suggested and requested an increase and they agreed. Mine was from 10k to 15k. Not nearly the outragious prices some names list for at GD's but they did increase it per my request. I would like to think that my reasonings and facts given were the reasons for the increase in evaluation being granted. I wonder if I had request an increase to 100k if they would have agreed.
I hope not .....I'ld rather think the suggested price ranges are actual or reasonable expectations.
Is it policy to let an accepted name owner set his own price?

You don't hear much about sales there, but then again a lot of high end sales buyers ask for non-disclosures. I guess GD will continue to be one of those great mysteries.

I haven't even tried to list anything there since they changed the format a couple years ago to high end only.

They sell small numbers, but only the premium stuff, the domains in bad extensions, .tv, .cc etc are listed largely to try and boost registration numbers/speculation in those extensions.

I think more than half of the sales are to resellers, endusers generally shop via the whois, not greatdomains.

GD is owned by Verisign. Therefore their sister company is the domain registry operator for .cc and .tv. It's in their best interest to support those repurposed ccTLD's, as well as promote their own .net and .com TLD's which they say they "prefer".

yup verisign is very biased... and i bet any single premium .tv you reg will be accepted there.
