Almost a month ago, I switched to DreamHost, and set all of my DNS to DH from GoDaddy (my ROC - registrar of choice).

12 hours later, DNS are resolving fine and I'm sent to the right servers.

Last night, I was setting up DSL for a relative and noticed when I went to my site, I was getting sent to my old DNS... and over 24 hours later, I still am. What would cause my ISP (valornet.com) to be resolving to the old DNS settings after so long?

Wow.....i think there is 72 hours maximum period for nameservers propagation , but if isp use some kind of isolated nameserver and proxy this might happen. Maybe some kind of misconfiguration of nameserver or proxy can cause this too.

I have similar problem with one of my .ws domains at domainsite (~week to propagate, but not only for my ISP, i have tested with proxies around the world.)
Just curious, what type of TLD you are talking about?

try the obvious which would be refreshing the page several times it may get the isp to disregard their dns cache. it is possible that they updated the dns cache just before the update and it has not refreshed again yet (also possible the DNS on the old server had a high refresh rate set).
