Hi, I hope im in the right section of the forum, I also want you to know that I'm new at this. Ok here it goes... I have a domain name registered with name.com and wanted to use godaddy's hosting service for it, I added the domain name to my off-side domain list (at godaddy) and went to name.com ans replaced their DNS servers with the the ones godaddy provided me...

mns1.secureserver.net
mns2.secureserver.net
ns43.domaincontrol.com
ns44.domaincontrol.com

I waited 3 days and and kept getting the "Server not found" messsage when trying to access the site

somebody told me to replace mns1 and mns2 with with ns1 and ns2, so I had...

ns1.secureserver.net
ns2.secureserver.net
ns43.domaincontrol.com
ns44.domaincontrol.com

and waited a couple of days, the website was working about 20%of the time. gave it another day but it was still like that.

somebody else told me that all I needed was
ns1.secureserver.net
ns2.secureserver.net
so I changed it and waited a couple of days again, but the site only worked sometimes.

I called godaddy and told me to enter all the servers they provided (like in the beginning) and wait. And it's been like that for four days and nothing, can someone please help me with this? the name of the site is menwitheatingdisorders.com

Thank you so much!

Thanks for the reply, I changed them back to that like godaddy told me when I called, and it's been like that for almost 5 days now.

If you're still having alot of trouble figuring it out and can't get it to work after weblord's advice, the easiest solution would be to either transfer your domain to Godaddy or use a 3rd party DNS solution like DNS Made Easy.

You can modify the A record and reduce the TTL so that DNS changes take less time in the future.

I use DNS Made Easy myself, best $60 I ever spent.

My host is SoftLayer, but I believe the Godaddy Nameservers are: NS51.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS52.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

At least that's what I'm told to use if I want my BQB.com hosted at Godaddy.

That DNS test found no domain listed under A records. I recommend seeing: http://help.godaddy.com/topic/163/article/678 . Nothing showing up under A records from the zone would explain why your domain isn't resolving.

yeah I'll probably just tranfer the domain to godaddy if I dont fix this soon.

Does this tell you anything?

I ran a "Domain Name DNS test" here http://www.pweb.cz/en/dns-test/dom.php?dom=menwitheatingdisorders.com

and showed me some errors but I wouldn't know how to fix them, any advise?

Thank you!

My domains are registered with GoDaddy but my sites are hosted in three different webhosting companies, not with GoDaddy.

I've had no problems in terms of DNS customization.

OK. Is it possible that you didn't pick the server package, Apache, FP extensions, of whateever before setting the name servers?

Seems to me I have a 3 step thing to go through before running my sites there.
Call their support. You'll get a person in 3-9 minutes. I use my cell so I don't have LD fees.
