In the top ten completed sales this week listed at dnjournal (note: these do not include the recent 3rd Sedo/mtld auction):

5 .mobi
4 .com
1 .net

Though .mobi has the second and third spots, the top domain (investment.com) sold for more than prices of #2 to #10 combined.

I was watching that auction and the last (final) bid was actually 1,015,000.00
if I remember correctly.
didn't even hit the reserve til it hit 950,000.00

Interesting finish to say the least.

Can confirm both Buck's and Pcaero's recollections.

I only caught the final minutes of the invest.com auction at Sedo last week (which of course is different from Moniker's investment.com sale reported by DNjournal) but I'm sure I remember it very well - because I saw the good old message "Due to recent unavailability of this auction site the auction has been extended by 20 minutes."

So the shorter and more brandable generic sold for more - in the same time frame, and in similar circumstances; it's nice when things make sense in the domain market for a change.
