I just received an offer for one of my domains and the buyer wants to use DN.com as the escrow service. I'm not familiar with that site and wondering if it is reputable? The offer is significantly more than what I expected so I'm a bit suspicious.

Thanks!

Its safe, they'll ask for your and buyers IDs to ensure safety of the transaction.

Just ask DN.com whether they support wire transfer/Paypal to your country.

Personally I would prefer escrow.com and would feel better using them. Did the buyer say he only wants to use dn.com?

He is a Chinese buyer and said that there were problems using other escrow services due to restrictions with transferring yuan. Personally I don't think the domain is worth much so thats why I'm suspicious.

Well if that's the case, I would check and see if escrow deals in that currency. I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't when another does.

I would just use caution because there are a lot of domain thefts that wind up in that country. I would just be very, very cautious.

Yes they are safe. I used them twice. If you're a new user, you will have to send ID to verify your account. And if you're a seller, you'll have to send proof of domain ownership.

Of course it's safe. Used DN.com many times and @Cynthia is always very helpful.

I'm always amazed how people give out their photo IDs without a second thought. It's not even about a company having sensitive data getting hacked. Around here criminals simply approach an employee not making much money and buy the data directly from them.

How does one send proof of domain ownership? I'd assume the best way would be for Dn or the buyer to send an email to the contact address in DNS record and then the owner replies? Screenshots can be faked. ID scans can be faked.
