I made him a high end (confidential) offer and he accepted.

once again, seems like bad business on both parts when it clearly says "this is an auction" with an ending date, just my opinion

Nice grab GeorgeB. No offense to you. But kouky, your post clearly said NO BIN, and Auction ending in 2 days. That means NO BIN. Anyways. It's over now. Congrats on the sale. and Nice website.

Well I was gonna leave it alone because I really don't want to get into an argument about this. But I feel I should point out that again, all that happened was that I contacted him via PM and made him an offer. Apparently I wasn't the only one because quite a few of you were doing the same from what he told me so I bet a few people in this thread aren't as innocent as they seem.....

Bottom line, the vast majority of sales threads around here start out with no BIN and later add a BIN. All I did was speed up the process by PMing him offers until he set a BIN. I then paid that BIN. End of story. I did nothing that any one of you couldn't have done yourself and I resent being labeled as unprofessional because of it (the "both sides" comment). You tried to be cheap and get it for $10 or $20 and you lost. It happens to me all the time, get over it.

In his defense I made him a take it or leave it offer and he didn't have time to come and edit the thread. But should he have done so? I mean once he made the decision to set a BIN I immediately offered it to him. How would be decide the winner then? Time stamp? I had already offered the BIN so would my PM timestamp count? Probably so but you would likely have found something to gripe about that too. Can't please everyone :(

Its just a flaw in how Namepros has it set up, nothing that can be done about it until some rules are put into place regarding BINs and PM bidding. Nice purchase George, you were proactive and followed the current rules and you won, don't worry about the sore losers.

GeorgB is a sneak and the guy who sold it did not really give anyone of us a chance.... It really is the sellers loss.

I understand he sold it for cheap .... i contacted the seller myself and asked.

In any event, this activity would never be allowed to go on in other forums and so it maybe the reason that the quality of this forum could very well be in question...

Thanks,
Lorenzo

Both members should be barred and or suspended and GeorgeB does have a bad reputation fo such matters...

Actually - That is completely Wrong .....

It is considered Bad Conduct to add a "Bin" after the Auction is started ......

And considered Bad Conduct to contact someone in this manner to Screw your fellow Members over .....

Warnings to be issued .......

I think the Quality here is higher than any other ..... We watch as best we can - But for some reason - People would rather CRASH a sales thread than report it 90% of the time .... Which is just silly !

I've seen this happen a couple of times, including an auction being "extended" because there was a higher bid than the last one. I don't think it was GeorgeB's fault but rather the seller - he should've stuck to his own rules. When I sold my proxy browser last week, I still kept the auction going although there were PMs.

Another good example would be the site I bought from DragonHawk 2 days ago. Eventhough a higher bid came in after the auction ended, he still sold it to me. :)
