Some rejections in the last couple of weeks:

ukome
amicalia (from Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin words for Friend)
BigIllusion
DestinationYesterday (way too long but still like it)

Lessons I should get from them?

Thanks for your help!

This is just feedback.

Ukome : Negative connotations. I think "You Come". I don't think a company would like to be called that.

Amicalia: I like the sound of it, but it is too long and too obscure to have any relevant meaning in english.

BigIllusion: Again. Negative. If you heard those words spoken it would probably be in a negative context. "It's just a big illusion".

DestinationYesterday: I can't envision a company discovering that they must name themselves that. Long. "DestinationNow" would be shorter and catchier.

Just opinions.

We had CloudyOutlook.com turned down by BB -it sold in two weeks on Flippa-so you never know. Good luck.

Yeah, didn't notice the "You come" thing until a couple of days later. I just thought about the UK begining and the overall pronunciation and stupidly missed that. :)

Agree DestinationNow would be fantastic. But thought of Yesterday for some kind of antique business, or classic collecting (records, classic cars) or auction house. Can't really tell why, but I like it and still have hope to find a buyer who likes it too.

I do like Amicalia too. It sounds great to me, maybe because of my first language. I guess it may make more sense to try to reach an Italian, French, Spanish or Portuguese buyer who'll easily make the connection with the root word.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Perhaps we should start a BB rejects thread?

Perhaps we should start a BB rejects thread?

I think that's a great idea. I also think that the overall tone of this thread has turned into something very useful recently. Sharing rejects is a great way to learn what does work. I think a new thread would be appropriate.

Nice name. But 2 word misspellings. Have you seen many of those on BB?

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I saw the 4 word r/e/a/d/y/t/o/g/o/o/u/t.com accepted at BB. I couldn't believe they accepted that one until I realized it was owned by none other than Michael Krell. It's good to be the director.
And this guys DebitKard.com name is turned down?

I personally think that's a pretty bad name. Would you name your company, product or service DebitKard? Even if it was the correct spelling this name isn't a brandable imo and simply because it is a misspelling doesn't magically turn the name into something brandable.

Actually-yes I could see a company with that name. VERY easy to brand with enough money behind it. I could even see a major using this name.

Take this name and turn it into a pre-paid Debit Card company just like they do with Gift Cards and it's an instant company and easily remembered. It may not be a pure brandable but it absolutely is a name that could be used for a trademarkable business. To the right company that's a $10,000 name or more.

Debitico.com and Debitado.com are both owned by Mr Rice and published on BB and DebitKard.com was turned down? Try to pronounce "Debitico" vs "DebitKard".

I agree those are two mediocre names but that doesn't make DebitKard any better imo. Fact is that BB has plenty mediocre and in some cases simply bad names listed.

Post and discuss names rejected by BrandBucket, a few members requested this type of thread. Keep things polite.

DebitKard.com name is turned down?

DebitUp was also turned down (although debit up is better than Credit Up :) ). It looks like having a 2-words domain with a short word like Up, Do, OS is allowed only to a few BB users/directors.

Not sure where you see 2 words misspelled here. It's debit + card and I have debit + kard . Debit cards are what 99.9% of the UK population carry in their wallets. Its the standard card you'll get when you open a bank account.

Also the word kard means card in several other languages.

The good thing about this one is that it should do well outside BB. Not a pure brandable IMO, so it should get pretty good offers anywhere. Not a big worry. Good luck!
