I don't think LLayer is really a BB type name. More utilitarian than brandable to my eye.

On another note, I'm on an opposite streak to @Grilled Jesus -- had 8 out of 8 rejected yesterday. Looked at my last 50 and 14 were accepted, or 28%, which is down from about 40% acceptance I used to have.

I notice BB has a few domains beginning with ConsonantConsonant, and I thought layer matched the same criteria. That said, ConsonantConsonant beginnings are against BBs norm.

Sorry to hear about your recent decline in acceptance. My rates been up recently because I have been buying a lot with BB in mind so I tried to stay within their criteria rather than the tougher approval innovative type. The two domains I've sold in BB have came off terrible slumps.

The streak ended at 6.

My percentages have dropped back to normal levels going 4/10 4/11 on my last batch.

I like to believe that I have the holy touch and my every domain I submit is will get accepted. But let's not grill ourselves, if that happened the marketplace would be flooded, we'd go broke selling domains > reinvesting > paying listing fees until it reached the point where BrandBucket started to challenge some major registrars for the most of domains pointed to their NameServers.

With all the respect to their winning process, I question the rejection of:

xummu.PNG

Like other rejections, I blame the marketplace not the domain thus jumping to the conclusion they wanted to protect the value of current investors domains as X3mm3 is currently listed.

I apologize in advance for any influx of listed domains on my part. I reinvested the majority of my last sales, and have to imagine I, along with others who stayed home for the holidays, are contributing to the backlog in the queue. On a competitors note, the other big name in brandable marketplaces is broken. My domains have been in their queue for months. Talk about a waste of time.

Happy New Years and good luck BrandBucketing to all!

Mind posting the link to your brandbucket profile? I'm just curious..

Concerning Xummu, I personally think it doesn't sound good and would be very hard to write correctly. They rejected maybe 15 made-up names of mine in my last submission that I believe were better.

https://www.brandbucket.com/profile/qewt

Go figure my Profile name is my favorite 4L.com

They rejected it. I didn't understand why. It's my favorite domain, and now I thank them for that. Even though I could use the enduser sale to fund reseller 4L purchases, I feel Qewt is one of those 4Ls that I would regret selling for $X,XXX in the long run. It's too cute not to be Qewt :)

Thanks for your input. When spending hours upon hours on brandables, it's not hard to find our heads in the clouds. While I don't enjoy the knock, I truly appreciate the feedback. Without it, I might have found myself thinking if Xummu if a GREAT name than I should keep my eye out for names like Xumio / Xumly / Qummu etc. I've wasted a lot of money going down some of these rabbit holes in the past.

For what it's worth, I thought the X would be pronounced a Z, making this word sound like Zoo-Moo.

Could I check whether this might be the competitor with initials NR or maybe BR??

A new streak has been born with 7 in a row. It ended when I tried my luck with a keyword combo:
[I n v e s t H o n e s t]

It was quite a surprising "We've reviewed your domains" email seeing so many accpted in a row. I submitted some 200 names these last few weeks, with a lot of them in a bulk submission rather than individually.

My 2015 queue is clear, and I finished the month 21/54 or 38%.

2016 domains, here we come :D

I've cooled down. 36 of 114 or 31% The majority of my accpeted domains were 5L. I found a niche and performed a mini buyout.

My rate for two word domains is horrible. I don't think I had even one of these accepted in my last batch. I'm researching new keywords and theories to hopefully break this cycle.

My most disappointing reject: C l o u d G r o w n

Especially as BB has 11 pages of "Cloud" names, so it can hardly be a case of "not what our customers are looking for"...

They could just be more picky given their inventory? I sold a cloud domain with them last month, you'd think they'd keep a slot open for me, eh? lol I wonder how much of branding is textbook grammar based vs cultural base. I may be clouded having grown up in Hawaii, where grammar is somewhat frowned upon in certain context. With brands like maui tropix pounding slogans such as Maui Built into my subconscious.

Yes, I did wonder too if maybe they were just becoming more "selective". I had C/L/O/U/D/C/O/D/A (com) rejected last month and really had to scratch my head on that. With "coda" meaning the summation of an event, I thought it hit the Cloud space wonderfully, as well as having the repeating CCs.

I had P/R/I/O/R/C/L/O/U/D rejected if you're already talking about it.

They don't respect GJ's superior cloud eye... smh

I had Qaori.com rejected

It should have Kaori pronounciation and even aestetichally it doesnt seems so bad.
I guess they rejected because Q and A apparently doesn fit so good in brandable market

I recently had r/u/n/u/n and b/a/c/o/n/s/i/z/z/l/e rejected.

x/u/m/m/u - I liked it initially, but I think there are too many spelling variations ie zoomoo, xumu, zumu

c/l/o/u/d/g/r/o/w/n - The tense is probably the weakness. cloud growth is better?

q/a/o/r/i - This one also has alot of spelling variations

One a side note, my New Years resolution is to network more with other domainers in an effort to help out and learn.

Feel free to pm me if you have any domain questions or want to bs.

Godspeed for 2016!

How did you have the same name rejected twice?

Btw I like QuitAid.

I'm in a bad, bad, bad streak lately... despite the big amount of new names that are being included lately. I guess I completely lost my touch. Some of my recent rejections:

-W r i t e P l e a s e
-F u n c i f u l
-M a g i c a b l y
-T e c h n o C r o w d
-T u z u k a

Thoughts and opinions anyone?
