I wonder how many thousands of AR/ augmented reality domains were registered by domainers hoping for a big pay day. Microsoft announced its entrance into the technology, brands its product Hololens, makes a grand noise about it and voila AR/Augmented Reality domains are rubbish?


Microsoft made a song and dance about Hololens and I must admit it looks very promising but it hasn't delivered yet. Only time will tell. What it does have is a solid framework on which developers can build to take holographic computing to new dimensions.

So when Apple entered the tablet market and named its product ipad did that sound the death knell for tablet domains?

The irony is most folks now saying AR is dead domain wise are probably the same people who nearly got arthritis hitting the keyboard registering 99c AR names on you know where.

I suppose whats hot is hot and holo is it and the moment but for how long?

I think the big difference between the terms VR, AR / Augmented Reality vs Holo is, Holo was popularized by scifi shows or movies such as Star Trek "HoloDeck" and of course R2D2's holographic interfaces. The term Holo has already been engraved into the publics minds so i give Holo an up over other trends.

I see VR being bigger than AR, as mentioned before all three terms mean different things.

I agree with you. I just don't think that because microsoft chose to brand its product in this niche holo then vr/ar keyword domains are doomed.

I don't have many names in the tech but I'm sure some people do.

Czech porn is really huge, so I hope that the holo era of porn will kick off in the next few years in this region too. I bought porn variant too, even though it's not used in Czech or Slovak at all. Only sex and porno are used in those languages.

Imagine Angel Wicky or... Robert Rosenberg (depending on your sexual orientation) in your living room. Could be interesting

Btw. for people wondering why also .sk and not only .cz. We were one state before the separation and having both extensions is a big plus, especially if the words are the same in Slovak and Czech or only the diacritics is different, hard to explain to somebody who is not from the Czech republic or Slovakia, but you have to take my word for it. I.e. zive.cz and zive.sk or ulozto.sk and ulozto.cz probably better known in the warez community as uloz.to

Breaking a great news:-

Just received an inquiry on one of my Top Holo names, and the broker quoted $30k, and the buyer is still interested, and has asked for legalities, if there are any, arising out of MS having TMs on the term "Holo" (although they have no TM yet).

Would be a big breakthrough here. Cheers guys.
