I haven't registered a new domain in over 3 years!
Do you really think that it was just sitting around unregistered until LAST YEAR.
C'mon. I am sure you know the domain market better than that.
There hasn't been anything available except jibberrish, and new pop culture phrases, for well over 2 years.

Even if it were so, it still wouldn't make a difference in the price.

Honestly, check your whois information on that domain name.

Whois said:
Domain Name: TYPENAVIGATION.COM
Created on: 10-Aug-06
Expires on: 10-Aug-07

The fact is, the domain name is not 3 years old. I did not question your pricing requirements, I simply corrected you on what you thought the age was.

I can't drag out the original reg right this second, but for the sake of argument.
Let's just say it's 2 days old.
It's also listed for sale at Sedo for $8k.
If I can prove to you that registration tools don't all use the same data bases, and that it's older than what your tools are saying, are you interested in negotiating a deal for less than the list price?:)

Sorry, Afternic.

It is not difficult to log into your registrar and check the registration date. Honestly, it takes only a few moments.

Now, in regards to your asking price. When I post a cap price of $300 - why would you offer an 8k domain name?

I would obviously sell it for less, to make a quick deal.
I am pretty sure that I said, If you don't find what you are looking for, and you come up on the budget, to PM me.
Sometimes it makes a difference when people know what's available especially since it was so applicable to what you were searching for.

As far as the actual time we have had the domain, I have around 15,000. I don't have the exact documents waiting available for each one all the time, until I have a deal on the table, and most for most buyers it is not a concern. Just that it has a clean record, some age, and it what they are looking for.

I have quite a few that what ever data base the person is using at the time says one thing, but I can show "Archive" shots of the actual age it's been online, so they are not the same, and they are not all accurate.
They only started with the whois data bases in 1999, and I have domains that go back to '95.

But I will be more than happy to make them available to you.
Just doing a "Drive by" post to answer your request, with what I can remember off the top of my head.
But you are right, I should have never posted that I had this domain available, and we can consider this a waste of your time, and my apologies.

I can appreciate that. However, you did not post an actual price, you just said come up.... I dont typically deal in terms of negotiations, especially when im looking for a domain name - which Is why I require a posted price. Makes it easier on me and the seller.

Thats fine, I dont expect you to know all details about every domain in your portfolio. But if you do post something about it, I do expect that information to be accurate.

After reviewing the Archive.org results, I still show no information about this domain name having been registered in the past. Also, I think perhaps there is an issue here with semantics. The age of a domain name is based on how much time has lapsed since its registration. If the domain has recently dropped, it becomes a fresh reg and thus starts over.
But I will be more than happy to make them available to you.

I appologize if I came off a little hostile, It was not my intention. I think you do have a quality name there, one which if it was within my budget, I would definetly consider. Best of luck.
