I have discovered this adsense feature few days ago and I am playing with it on a new site I am building, and I am very happy with it!
it is called the "chamelon code" for adsense.

Maybe some of you are interested to have more actractive ads from google on their sites .

The final result is that the colors of the ads changes at every reload of the page.or something a littl emore random.
The effect is very cool and by accurately choose the possible combinations you can give a new look and feel to your pages containing adsenses.
That should actract more people to click on the ads (hopely)

here is an example how to write the code.
Then the ads will be displayed in one of the combination of colors you have estabilished.

google_color_border = [”FFFFFF”,”000000″,”333333″,”0033FF”];
google_color_bg= [”CCCCCC”,”FFFFFF”,”EEEEEE”,”FFFFFF”];
google_color_link = [”FFFFFF”,”000000″,”333333″,”0033FF”];
google_color_url = [”FFFFFF”,”000000″,”333333″,”0033FF”];
google_color_text = [”FFFFFF”,”000000″,”333333″,”0033FF”];

Unluckely I can't post the link of my site for you to take a look, at least that I have understand reading the forum rules.

If I am wrong , a moderator would advice me that I am allowed to post the link.

hope you liked the tip.
in such case a rep* will be really appreciated.

I must advise this is against the TOS of the Adsense program. If someone from Google finds out or someone would report you, you will be banned from the program.

This link will instruct you to do the same compliant with AS TOS and by using the AS Wizard.
You can't modify it yourself.

I don't know if you meant this but just wanted to point out you can't modify the code yourself.
And you can only officially rotate between 4 different palets.

I am not shure I am understaing what you say here, I am very prudent when I have to do with adsense and I would never incour into have my adsense account suspended because I haven't respected the TOS.

The purpose of this thread it is only to inform people about a new possibility.

As far as I know you can choose the color you prefer for your ads, it is even suggestet by google itself to try the best combination that better fit your site look and feel.

I am using a module in mambo that allow to set the ads colors within the module, and it is guaranteed to be google TOS compliant 100%. So it is like I am changing the color in the code.......

I have followed the link you indicated and it seem to me it is exactly what I am talking about... and yes I confirm you can rotate "up" to 4 palettes, that it is not the same as to say "only" 4 palettes, I found 4 palettes are just quite complicated to manage in a balanced way.

but let me know: is it that link bring to your site?
BTW I've found some interest reading in it.

Well if it's a Mambo module then i guess it must be TOS compliant so no worries there then ;)

I have seen posts like this before and people making changes withing the adsense code provided by Google and therefor breaking TOS.
Since you say you use a Mambo module i guess there is no problem there, hopefully.

To be certain i would email the support team with a test page to show them your intentions and asking them if your TOS compliant for implementing this.

No it's not my site just a site i had bookmarked ;)

*slighty confused* You can set custom color palletes within google? Why bother editing the code yourself?

color codes I meant not scripting code.
you can do it visually if a color palette is available or, like I am doing, I prefer a tool that has the ability to pickup the color from any pixel on the screen and return the corresponding color code, in RGB value .
That way I have the colors of the ads perfecty matching the color of the part of the site where the ads will appear, to do it faster I simply copy and paste the color code in the fields that are there for such purpose..

I hope it is more clear now.

yes that is, there is an official declaration inside the module and on the site of the module developer.

It's totally okay with Google to change the colors of your ads. The banner, the text, the background... anything. The only thing that is PROHIBITED is to change the colors in such a way as to cause the word "google" to disappear from the ad.

So color away... and enjoy. Good suggestion! thanks :)

Just hit RELOAD on this page for a while... you will see the Google Ads at the bottom of this very page doing exactly what Genialnames is suggesting.

Maybe a week at the most.

Wow, very creative. This reminds me that Google needs to provide more attractive aesthetics to keep them ahead in this area. It would help everyone involved.

Yeah I would highly advice against all of this as well. The last thing you want to do is get kicked from AdSense. It has happened to me and once on the list, you never get back on it.

You were not kicked for color changes. If that were true, we wouldn't be seeing it happend right now, on this forum, as you are reading this post. The ad directly below these postings is a color changing ad. It is completely OKAY with Adsense. After reading this thread, I even write them to ask them and they replied it was fine.

Personally, I don't use it because I find that drawing attention to the ads, in some way STOPS people from clicking on them. Blending them is a better way to encourage clickthrough.

But hey, it IS a cool feature and on the right site, that makes some sense to have them change colors.

Again, totally OK if you want to do it. :)
