Wow! I saw that name over at eBay the other day and I thought it was a joke or something.

That's insane if it was actually out of Nike's hands after the WIPO.

Maybe they gave it to Lance Armstrong for safekeeping.

Always wondering why some seller list upper case...
Possibly "nlke" dot net? Buyer got scammed?

Just copied and pasted the domain as it is listed in the seller's description into Microsoft Word.

Changed the font, and there it was: NLKE.NET

Buyer got scammed... Seller should be banned from eBay.

If you check his feedback on eBay, he has like 8 ratings. The ones that are showing with a comment were barely over $1.00 USD. Who the hell would risk $10K on this???

That's terrible! It was just registered on November 30 too.

I sent a complaint to eBay but there was no place for comments so they probably won't figure it out.

Smart selling technique even though it was deceptive but in my opinion they did nothing wrong and the buyer got what was described in the auction.

This is not smart.
Anyone with a little knowledge about domains can do that.
The difference is that some people are fucking cheaters trying to exploit each and every knowledge gap out there and others like to make their money without deceiving others.

By the way, i am sure even if the buyer paid the domain, he will get his money back one way or another. Someone paying 10K for a domain on ebay, will also pay a lawyer to destroy the ebay seller.

The high bidder probably won't pay. It's eBay so he probably assumes he was buying shoes.

Disclaimer: I'm a gold-level powerseller on eBay

If you look at bidding history, there were three bidders.
Winner has 2 feedback score.
Other two have 6 feedback score each.

I am guessing all three bidders are shill bidders made by seller?

Further more, If you look at winner's bidding history on eBay...
Winner bid on 2 items on ebay and retracted 2 bids :D

So, I am thinking that seller is building transaction history
thus creating artificial price for this domain (NLKE.com) to
scam someone at later time?

It is unfortunate that these things happen. I agree the the seller should have indicated that it was in fact a typo domain. That would normally be the appropriate thing to do. However I also feel the buyer should have been more cautious as well in proceeding with that type of transaction. Fraud happens every day. You have no idea how many times people send phishing emails with the addresses 1 character off to fool you. It is becoming more and more our job to do the detective work. The society today is becoming more and more buyer beware all the time so we should be more cautious in the buying decisions we make these days.
