Did I just 'hit the hosting jackpot'?

This is not a 'sneaky ad' for a hosting company (This server is not advertised here at NP, or very unlikely), I just want to know if these server stats look really good:

-The server load was at 0.00 for about ten minutes, then it 'spiked' to 0.07
-4 CPU's
-Disks almost empty.
-This is really good, isn't it?

How much did you pay for it, which datacenter, how many sites hosted, how much ram? I'm interested where you got this from

I think that's 1gig, please, tell me if I'm wrong.

It was a lucky find, and I'm just looking for confirmation the stats are very decent or better. They are overseas and claim to "use some American datacenters".

I'm thinking it's looking pretty good.

It could be one of thier newer servers that is still fairly empty. The specs on the box do look very good though.

Those numbers really mean nothing.
All they tell me is that there is nothing on the server.
Show me a server with a lot of sites that still has a low load and I'll take it seriously.

An empty server will never produce load.

HH knows his stuff and he's definitely right in this case. What you have is a Dual Xeon server with 2 procs (HT technology). I'd say those stats are nothing above average for a relatively empty server and hardware this is fairly common to the industry.

That doesn't sound good to me. If you server is empty and you ar eusing 36% mem and 25% swap.. That is defently not good.

But as HH said.. You will need to put on a 100 sites that have constant users to in order proper "benchmark" your server.
