A domain doesn't acquire value just by being based on a dictionary word; it acquires value either from being likely to be typed in, or likely to be desired by a business, or brandable, etc.
If a domain is based on a dictionary word then that might indicate that it's more likely have some of the features that give it value, but it's the features that give it value not the dictionary listing.
There's no intrinsic value to dictionary domains. If a dictionary word domain isn't likely to be typed in, isn't likely to be desired by a business, isn't brandable, etc. then it doesn't have any value.
At least, that's my take on your question.
