Developing Short Names

I just wondered if members develop their short names? I have a few LLLL.net's & LL-L.com's I thought I could develop into something and I would like to see what others do with their short names...

I see these names more of an investment than development type names and would try to sell them later for some profit without too much effort developing etc.

Most people are not totally into developing here. Most are domainers. There will be some who develop and after I post this you may here from a few. I do develop some but not all domains I buy. This has always been the point for me and my better domains. I still buy for reselling but making a great website is very satisfying too.

I just made squink,com from a domain I bought on ebay not too long ago. I developed this through work but it was fun and is very successful too.

Basically i develop when i get bored or business is slow. Lately thats pretty much what i have been doing. Profits can be great if you develop a good site.

What mostly is never mentioned is that before you develop you need an idea of what to develop the domain as. Short domains rarely have obvious meanings, so that can be a problem.

Advantage - easy to stick a lot of URLs into a signature (he he).

Disadvantage: LLLL.coms get so much spam that you basically cannot have default email forwarding enabled.

I might develop a couple and see how they go, they get good traffic which should help.

Still needs some work like adding adsense but the script is working.

Another idea I had for some other short domains was to run my own personal tinyURL, mostly for my own affiliate links. There are free/cheap scripts already made.

What do you do if you own good domain names, and have good ideas...but are missing motivation? :D

Developing is easy, like a proxy network, or some random adsense sites, but it's pretty to make a decent revenue this way. I'm trying another way to develop over 1000 domains now, will let you know if this worked.. for now the programmers are working on the scripts

But in general the idea is to find that works for one domain with some amount of efforts applied and scale it.
