i'm working on a webdesign for oursweetbaby.com ,
an informational website for young and other parents.

attached is the main design .
If someone could give me some feedback and advise on the further developpement, it would be much appreciated.

The Bad

• Don't forget the favicon.
• The sites colors need work (this isn't targeted just towards girls/moms).
• The header has to be changed (include a logo).
• The site looks too Photoshopy (all glossy and gradient like).

The Good

• It's a good idea.

Hi there,

Ok the first thing I notice, it is very pink. Obviously this is related to babies and sweetness and because of this, pink is acceptable. However somehow you need to tone the pink down slightly. The reason being, right now it feels a bit pratronising, and that is something this topic of site needs to stay away from.

On the subject of the colours, the grey menu with black text does not work well against the pink. The grey you could probably get away with however the black text does not work. Maybe try white buttons? Or lighter grey...

The header, I have closed my browser now and I could not tell you what was in the header. That means, it did not impact on me enough, it needs to catch the users attention so they stay long enough to read. All I remember about the header, is that it is very pink. So investigate the header slight.

One thing I do like, the sqaure buttons to forum. build your own site and so forth.. I really like that, very clear very simple, that will lead visitors to those pages nicely, well designed and well phrased.

The text in the block in the middle is very well written however needs to be formatted. Your first paragraph on a website again needs to attrach attention but not as much, if they have started reading then they are slightly interesting. However they are not hocked yet. Make the very frst sentence stand out more, and seperate it from the bulk of text that follows.. allowing them to ease into the paragraph.

Overall, great topic, good idea, design page format is great, but pink needs toning down, and look into the text and the menu.

Layout review

Hi. First of all, the colours need more colouring or re-colouring. Second, the font needs changing I think. Third, the banner looks quite good I think.
