Why is it still closed (not officially closed, but that is what the stickies say)

It says there are still updates happening to it... but I don't see why we can't posts contests anyway =/

Next time search, it's been discussed many times before..

It may re-open in the future. We are currently working on a few changes and we will see what they bring.

To add to what Bill said, if you're looking to either start a design contest or offer your own services, visit the Web Development Wanted forum. There are contests held there time to time.

It wasn't really that I wanted to start a contest. I was just wondering what was the use of having a dead section lol

That section requires a lot of extra moderation attention. Too many participants wanted to bypass the rules and ruin a fair share of the contests.

Both previous moderators we had for that forum resigned after a short period. I'm not in any hurry to reopen that area. It needs a major re-haul.

I would be willing to moderate it if you are looking for anyone in the future.

You did'nt sound like a quitter. I think we understand what -RJ- was saying. And it did not come accross as portaying quitters....Rather it, the section, was being abused and I'm guessing -RJ- would rather shut it down than have his Mods and members subject to scammers and violaters.

I always felt the mods did a good job in the section. I frequented the section and even had a contest myself (logo).

I would like to see more design contests.
