Was trying to transfer three .us domains to Godaddy, and the other registrar (a godaddy reseller), keeps denying them!

They only have around thirteen days left until they expire, so I need to get them there.

Also, one is "unavailable" to transfer? Strange. Hasn't happened to me before!

Anyone care to explain?

Just got an email back with:

The domain registrant has recently changed. For security purposes, it may not be transferred for 60 days.

Dumb thing is, it hasn't been transfered. It has been pushed to another account, but that doesn't qualify.

Oh well. I contacted them, and now if you even change the account a domain is in, it counts as a transfer, which means a 60 day rate.

I do not have enough funds in my paypal account to renew at the current registrar, will have to hope I can get the funds back from Godaddy before long for the failed transfers, if they do give refunds.

That’s very unlikely :(

I did receive the refunds immediately after calling their support number, so I renewed the domains. Unfortunately, it cost much more than it would of with Godaddys current promotions.

I wish that they would let you know that account to account pushes counts as a transfer, and you cannot transfer to a different registrar until sixty days.

GoDaddy has some of the strictest rules when it comes to transfers (ie. any contact info changes also result in a 60 day wait). They claim it is to reduce fraud, though I can't help but think it is a ploy to discourage people from transferring.

I have had compatibility issues between their main site and resellers also, you should jsut give them a call, they took care of me

domain reg'ers are just in it for the money so thay can charge loads more than others so in some cases you have to pay more to re'new it 8-X

They said it was due to the account push, so they couldn't transfer them.

Oh well! I guess I will only register domains at Godaddy that I wish to keep for myself.

Will use Registerfly, NameCheap or somewhere else for domains that I wish to sell.
