Well put Raymond ! I noticed the MovieChannel premium case last week and was very happy for some of us owning .....Channel.tv names registered at standard reg fee, and there are still pretty good combos available, I am thinking about regging a few more !

For those of us owning xxxchannel.tv's - hearing that moviechannel.tv is a premium is nuch better than a punch in the nose......

But I am not sure so much that this provides the automatic increase in value for all decent channel.tv sites...

Definately Hollywoodchannel would increase in value as would other extremely strong generic key words like boxingchannel......

But, they would need to be extremely strong key words to benefit from the premium pricing of moviechannel.tv alone......

So for instance my bettingchannel.tv, studentchannel.tv and ReChannel.tv are all nice channels IMO, but I do not think they benefit from the premo pricing of moviechannel.......they benefit from being decent generic names + with channel making sense.......

The only problem is that Movie Channel is a trademark. Here's an excerpt from wikipedia

The Movie Channel (TMC) is an American premium cable television network owned by Showtime Networks, Inc., a subsidiary of CBS Corporation, which, true to its name, shows only movies.

Enom charging $3k for a trademarked term is not good for .tv. Sorry.

Thats only works for numbered channels. noone would respond back that its on "channel discovery" or "channel travel". it makes no sense at all. sportschannel.tv is 1000x better than channelsports.tv. i dont even know if channelsports.tv would be worth the reg.

I agree of course for the most part that xxxchannel is better the channelxxx However, I think both will be in use for keywords and branding can make either successful to the right end user.

I also think a lot of people here are blinkerd into thinking that everything revolves around selling domains in the USA. It is obviously the biggest market so far, but I think with the .tv extension being a universal abbreviation, the .tv names will be huge in all countries.

If no one in the US thinks a name is good, another person in another country might.

I just bought 6 more anyway.

I feel we are going in circles here. I said I agreed twice now, I was talking about many threads on this forum, not actually what was on topic. apologies.

Lets be honest whoever bought .mobi or .cc or any other ridiculous extensions like that was only looking at the US market, where the .tv name has universal appeal and even people who speak pidgeon english no what a tv is. That is what Im saying, the .tv market will be huge when the world knows about it. The market is far wider with the .tv extension and any names that are topical will sell - even if they are around the other way as the keywords are good.... It would also make sense for the owners of .........channel.tv bought them the other way aound. again self promotion, but also a good point IMHO.
