DellReviews.com

I noticed this one on an expired list about a week ago, didn't think anything of it at the time, but today I checked to see if it was still available and it was. Only thing is, all other exts are taken. So I whois them and they're all owned by Dell.

So I guess at this point I just wait to see if I get a C&D.

They seem to use a place called MarkMonitor which is supposed to auto-renew domains and ensure their brand security, haha which is rather funny considering the situation.

My question really is, are there any issues of free speech involved here which would allow me to possibly keep the domain and start a legitimate Dell review site or am I pretty much powerless to hold on to this?

Any ideas or feedback would be much appreciated.

Also any appraisals undeveloped / developed.

TM issues, no value on this one, deleting it would be best

If you are planning on deleting it I will be happy to take it off your hands. I want the C&D letter, it would look pretty on my wall.

Actually I realized that the .info is owned by someone besides Dell, and they haven't gone after them, because it's been registered since May 2005, so maybe they wont come after me. I thought TM issues could only be claimed if you were using someones TM in a fraudulent way or to compete against them? It seems there should be some freedom of speech issues with this one. They dont have "DellReviews" TM, at least I doubt they do. So obviously it is a review of Dell products, which should be freedom of speech.

I guess we'll see. I am looking forward to setting up a site though, so I hope they don't wait until after I put a lot of time into it, to come after me :)

I had ExpediaDeals.com and Expedia sent their lawyers after me within a month. I think you will have a better case because Expedia is a name they came up with (isn't in the dictionary) while Dell is a name that could be used as long as you don't have anything to do with Dell directly. But you already knew that.

Great domain... if you don't get a C&D if it's actually a Dell Computer review site w/ads. I'd just sell it for whatever.
