Quite often if a domain is deleted before it's expiry date, there was some kind of problem with the domain before. Usually that would be a TradeMark infringement, but it could be something else.

There are 2 possibilities with the email you received. It is either a spam/scam email, which you should ignore, or the previous owner of the domain has run up a bill with an SEO company. If it is the latter, you could respond to the company stating you only just acquired the domain, on MM-DD-YY, and you are not responsible for any contracts entered into before that date.

I got emails like this on new domains I regged.
Pay us to seo your new domain, blah blah blah.,
If not, your domain will not be added to our good domain list and it will hurt you.
I have yet to feel any pain!

It is SPAM, not freaking misleading marketing!
Just like it is SPAM when I get emails from so called domainers wanting to sell me shit domains!

Since you say it is not SPAM, I take it you use such methods to market whatever you sell?

Yes, Not Spam but Misleading Marketing Technique.. When a person says that I want to sell something to you it is simple marketing, when a person says he want to sell something to you and convince how it will benefited to you, it is pro marketing.. but when a person says that he want to sell something to you and he force you to do so by saying your current product purchase is nothing or worthless if you don't purchase his product (which is not true at all), no doubt it is misleading marketing.

If one is approaching prospective end user/buyer to buy a domain which will benefit him to increase online presence of his business then definitely it is marketing or pro marketing.

What is Spam?

irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.

Few days back I sent emails containing one specific business related domains to the users who are actually in that business.. One of them bought my domains and today his traffic is increased and his sales are also increasing. Yes it was sent to large number of people (say 20) but it was nor irrelevant nor inappropriate.

Those emails was spam? not at all. It would be considered as spam only if I had sent it to random people/emails which do not have any relation with my domains or that particular business. or offer to buy domains of one industry to the people of another industry.

There is a huge difference between advertisement, marketing and spam..!!

I beg to differ on this with you.

An email sent out to me without my permission to sell something, be it a product/service which is irrelevant is obviously a SPAM. And such emails definitely fall in the category of SPAM!

Being in that business doesnt mean I am going to buy whatever someone's going to email me!

And most of the time, they are irrelevant or I, or others would have reached out to you with an offer to buy it off of you :P

To prove your point you just showed what you wanted to show :).

Here is the actual result for the sake of it. Check out the "Verb." version of term "SPAM". In addition to what Soofi said.

Any unsolicited email, is spam. Pure and simple. Relevant or not. If I have not agreed to receive emails from you, it's unsolicited. Period.

Go ahead reply lol

I have recieved this email from different email adresses, so its not spam?

9 years experience and an outlook email addy fml

[email protected] was flagged as spam in the past, so just switch to gmail or yahoo

Use privacy or pay the price in spam

Update:: found a code for 99cent privacy at godaddy, put privacy on 13 names for 11.50 canadian dollars. Buy a name for 99cents, then buy privacy for 99cents and then no spam.

To op wether its deleted and picked up or a new reg, these scum have ways to find new reg and phish. Send a reply to the email you recieved asking if they do bulk orders, and use some disposable email addy, you can change if the spam gets to much

or.. put your pic up here with some of your domains with no privacy so anyone can find your home adressse and phone number and some prick may put you on the manline, pof, craigslist

Its only gonna get worse, not better as people get more desperate for the almighty US dollar or the 80cent loonie
