Today, as more and more green web hosting companies hit the scene, consumers must be aware of the fact that not all of them are as environmentally committed as they appear. In order to analyze and understand whether a web hosting provider is genuinely “green” or not, we must be able to understand the degrees of green web hosting.

There are several ways of going 'green' most hosts that you hear about blast it as an advertising banaza really only purchase carbon of sets. There is many better ways of staying green such as working from home so your not commuting not sending invoices/offers to people by mail. (Godaddy does this alot) as many people do not recycle.

'Green' does seem like a sales work. However, there are servers which are built to draw a minimal amount of power. Atom servers also tend use less power than servers with standard sized CPUs.

True but One quad core processor is alot stronger then 20 attom servers and uses alot less power. It depends on what type of host for a shared/reseller host a huge high end server is alot better then the equivilent # of servers it would take to run the same specs with atom servers.

I have researched personally datacenters in Europe and USA. What I can tell is that the energy in the USA is very cheaper. The reason is that there are many nuclear/coal power production, which damages the enviroment.

"Green" is the beginning of a conscience. Curiously almost all power producion in Europe have been "green" for decades

No doubt in it, that every one should analyze the hosting, while reading review and checking customer comments, in order to judge the quality of green host. As most of newbies get victim of middle standard hosting companies which failed to provide quality services.

If green web hosting companies will provide poor service I think no one will use them even if they are green
