I cannot decide which class i want to take in a Vo-Tech program my highschool offers.

Either:
Computer Science and Information (Free computer loaded with all kinds of software)
or
Computer Networking (They give us a server with nice specs to keep we have to build it)

Im not doing it for the free stuff.

But i like programming, but when i do graduate from highschool im planning to move to floridia or something (I have a few hundred thousand the day i graduate from a 80,000 bond that was bought back in 1987) But i want to open my own Datacenter. I was talking to a friend from school and he might help as well with this venture when we graduate its 2 years away but its always good to think ahead.

But since this is a great community i want some opinions on what would be the best thing. Cause im sure there is some professionals in the fields above on this site?

Any ideas?

Hey Cody,

If your plan is to open a datacenter, then the Networking class would be helpful towards that goal. Programming is a good field too, and in my experience programming classes are more fun than Networking classes.

So really depends on what your interests and plans are. Both are good things to learn, and you always have the option of taking a college class after high school to learn whatever you missed.

If you plan is to open a datacenter, you would most likely hire network techs and programmers. I would suggest some business and managment classes.

:) Business Management 1 and 2 :) still in the middle of 2 though ;)

As for the DataCenter i can handle that, i know most all of Linux Commands, i got that from remotely installing a lot of scripts with ssh... i dont think that part would be a problem.

I was talking to a few people i know that take the computer science/information class and they said "Cody, you can probally teach me more than the teacher taught me"

And i was told that if i want a challenge to take the networking class.

The problem is with the networking class, my school is dumb and uses windows for the servers :(. But it might be worth learning the windows, since i already know how linux works i guess

I just want to be successfull and earn lots of money so i can someday sit infront of a computer playing games and i never have to work agian ;) I think thats everyones dream.

Anyone else have anything to say?
