Hello,

anybody have experience with GD buying service ?
as seller or buyer ?

Currently GD contact me about my 13 years old domain.
and their offer is very low $ 1XX
I know they try to get it as low as possible.

I refuse their offer, since it is 13 years old, and also famous place.
Anybody can give me tips so I can get high price ?

Thanks

Go Daddy receives a 10% commission, so they'd like for your sale to be larger too. (http://www.godaddy.com/domains/domain-broker.aspx)

In my experience, it's very rare for GD to submit their client's best offer as an initial offer. Also, GD may not even know how high their client is able to go. Savvy clients will tell GD that their budget is $X but as soon as GD informs them that you won't sell for $X, their client may double or triple their offer.

It's best to counter with an offer that you can live with and let the cards fall where they may.

Our service works in a similar way and I always recommend that sellers counter even lowball offers because you never know.

If you're a buyer, of course you're going to try to get a domain for as little as you can.

Thanks for the advice. Sometimes I don't answer to inquiries at all. I should have more compassion.

Wouldn't it be cool if registrars allowed us to have a wishlist and gave people the option to be notified when similar domains or our wishlist domains were for sale or expiring in 3 months?

Godaddy will upsell the hell out of you but they could make so much more money with domain sales commissions.
