For those of you who pretty much make a living in your domaining/development/blogging online how do you schedule your day?

It is exceptionally hard to get things done because we are always surprised by opportunities that present themselves. We get started on many different projects and are late to finish any of them.

What gives? Do you schedule in the time, make a checklist, stream of consciousness?

What works best for you?

I don't make a living from domaining...yet.

Anyhow, I get up and check email first thing for inquiries and such. I usually send out emails to potential endusers as well. Naturally I scour the forums for the latest updates and info which may teach me something new!

I view blogs as a novelty so I steer clear. My energy is focused on finding and obtaining quality generics at an affordable price. For me it's a never ending hunt to find underpriced gems :)

I think the question is more like, "When does a Domainer Sleep?"

I find it best to make a checklist of things to do daily. I find myself procrastinating on getting off track if I don't. I make a living of flipping domains and several other things online so time is money...

Hahahahahah - this is so true. The question should be do we sleep and when.

This is a every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year job and we put in the effort to get it done.

My schedule is this:

  • Coffee
  • Development of domains I registered the prior day
  • Brain storming new domains
  • Registering those new domains
  • Parking the new domains that are not ready for development yet
  • Developing the new domains that can easily be developed (usually 30-40 minutes per domain - auto blog with goggle adsense)
  • Coffee
Which parking site to park my domains or to customize my own page and park it myself on my own server
  • Setting up the next days schedule
  • Development
  • Sleep 2-4 hours
  • Coffee
  • Start of a new day

1) comb through the drop lists & backorder
2) email 500 end users for 10 of my names
3) reply to "how much" emails and negociate a min. of 3 sales

Can you elaborate on the bolded point. Is it really that quick to develop?

I roll out the domains that I want to develop with a CMS (Content Management System) script and since I am already or have been with Adsense for years I just set up the new domain in Adsense. If I am ambitious - I'll setup analytics too but since this is a repetitive cycle it usually only lasts 30-40 minutes.

Once you start doing something like this on a continual basis it just starts happening faster.

Hope this helps. Need to know more let me know. :)
