I'm toodling along, searching for an American Made niche domain, and voila, dotster shows www.usa.us is available..... heart goes bling-bling, I immediately try to buy it, and alas, just a mirage, no, usa.us is not available, lol. Just a glitch in their system. You tease!

NSI always gets me with .de's for some reason. There is no larger let down, IMHO.

Its got nothing to do the the registrar, its the software they use to check domains and the way they do it!

As long as you get refunded i don't see the point of cursing them! maybe write them an email to suggest to update their system!

Though as far as i know almost all registrars have these type of domains problems from time to time. Though to admit i have never seen any registrar more money hungry that domainsite being full of errors!

I bought a domain from someone on DNF! it was regged with them, apparently he backcharged them. So domainsite charged me $25 to give me back the domain and further $6.99 for 1 year reg! Complete over the moon. I try and stay away from them as much as i can!

Actually, I like dotster, even though they are a little pricier than some others.... Check out their domain search pages, they've really improved them over the last few months. Really easy to look for new or expiring domains. Just the occasional glitch to throw me off, lol.

I was looking at some on yahoo's domain registration and it showed they were available, then I went over to godaddy and it was gone but yahoo still said it was there
