I know of two 3 letter Dot ws domains that get alot of listings in google.
One of them typed in Google shows 1 - 10 of about 1,530,000
links with it in..
The other one showed Results 1 - 10 of about 863,000.

And both have meaning in the Adult market and Multi legit businesses.
Since a 3 letter Dot ws cost $500.00 each any ideas what they'd be worth??

.US domains.US domains
Probably less than $500, or they wouldn't still be available.

There are many very good 3 and 2 letter .ws left, but the problem is that you have to register them through website.ws and they don't have a very "reseller friendly" system there...

First you'll need to pay for two years to reg the domain in the first place, and that's $1000 for a 3 letter and $2000 for a 2 letter..
Then it costs you $100 to transfer the domain.
And last (but not least), those two years you've paid for is forfeited when you transfer the domain to a new account... :(

Does it cost anything to transfer my domain to a new owner?

Yes, the transfer fee is $100. It can be paid by either party, but must be paid online during the transfer.

Any current registration period already paid for is automatically forfeited. The new owner will need to complete payment for a new registration period within 10 days of the ownership transfer or the domain will be released back into the pool.

Sounds like they're trying to discourage people from buying up short domains for the sole purpose of reselling them.

Personally i would think that they are worth less than 500$ unless it was a VERY good name ;)

Waste of cash

.ws = .webs**t simple as that......
Worthless cash maximising registry so at least they are good at that
but any sucker who pays $500 for a three letter .ws needs to
spend a long long time in a mental institution :)..............

I slowed down with buying .ws domains after I found out that they were doing some kind of MLM scheme - that kinda takes away the perceived value of .ws extensions.

I also don't like the "tiered-pricing" scheme cos it looks like a "get-rich-quick" scheme to me - feel the same about .TV domains.

Actually they were TGP.ws and MGP.ws.
In the Adult market a TGP is a Thumbnail Gallery Post and there's about
100,000 of them on the net, MGP is Movie Gallerey Post but they have business listings also for TGP that I noticed.

What about one word .ws domain names. Are they worth more than reg fee?

I'd say it highly depends on the word, it's keyword ($) strength, and the size fo the market that would potentiall use that name. there are thousands of normal gTLD's that a single word is worthless because it has little potential developable use. I think a lot of them are worth more than reg fee, but mostly just a few times reg fee, not exponentially like a .com would be.

I sold hifi.ws for $30 I think - could've gone for $60 BIN if I hadn't close the auction early. So, yes there is a value to good one word domains.

Just got a $200 offer on a one word .ws on Afternic, got a low-mid $xxx offer on another one some days ago, so it seems like there's at least some value in them.. :)
